Frequently Asked Questions
How does SniperAgent work?
Using SniperAgent, you can bid on eBay listings. Your Bids will be automatically fired only seconds before the auction closes. Other bidders do not have a chance to outbid you, since the auction is over.
Enter the eBay item number and your max bid in "My Snipes". Select a lead time. The lead time is the span between bidding time and auction close in seconds. Your snipe will be saved in our system. Shortly before auction end, SniperAgent will fire your bid to the eBay server.
Are current high bids up-to-date?
SniperAgent is checking the high bids for saved listings around the clock. High bids shown are not real-time, they have a delay of up to 5 minutes. If a high bid has increased because of another bid, you get an outbid alert by email. You can turn on and turn off this function in "Preferences".
What to do, if my password was lost or changed?
Your credentials on SniperAgent are the same as on eBay. If you can't remember your password, change it on eBay itself. After that, login again to SniperAgent. Our system automatically updates to the current password.
How do I edit or delete a snipe?
You can change a snipe by just entering item number and max bid again. If you want to delete a snipe, click the delete link in your sniping list.
Why was the high bid of the auction greater than my actual max bid?
SniperAgent is adding 0.49 (in any currency) to your max bid. So other bidders must bid a full increment more else you win.
Why did my snipe not win despite the high bid of the auction was lower than my max bid?
SniperAgent is firing bids only seconds before auction close. There can however be reasons for eBay rejecting the bid.
The most common reasons are:
- Your credentials are invalid.
- The seller won't ship to your country.
- Item was a Buy-Now listing.
- The reserve price wasn't met.
- The seller made restrictions, e.g. buyer must have X posivitve feedbacks.
- The item was removed by eBay.
- The seller closed the listing early.
- The bid was too late. (Increase the lead time in that case!)
